Pain Management Consultation

When we think of pain we tend to perceive it as something that is just physical. Psychological treatments are also an important part of pain management. Understanding and managing the thoughts, emotions and behaviours that accompany the discomfort can help people cope more effectively with pain and can actually reduce the intensity of pain. Using the cutting edge technology of the K.Laser alongside psychological techniques optimises the chances of the best outcome.

Photobiomodulation

Decades of medical research has identified the wavelengths, energy levels and frequencies that induce changes in cellular metabolism; this is known as photobiostimulation. The K.Laser delivers energy from superficial to deep tissues activating a cascade of photochemical reactions that promotes self function. This enables treated tissues to accelerate the stages of the healing process and reduce pain. This is a safe and non-invasive technique that use the body's powerful own reparative processes.

The Weber helmet is a photobiostimulation device that can be used for the brain. It uses a kind of light therapy that uses red and near-infrared light to stimulate, heal, regenerate and protect tissues that have either been injured through head injuries and are degenerating or at risk of dying. The light stimulates cells to generate more energy and undergo self-repair. There is a growing body of science-based research to show it also helps to prevent cognitive decline, PTSD, Parkinson's and Dementia.

Our brain is responsible for most of our most vital functions like breathing or heart rate regulation. It also coordinates seemingly basic functions like thinking, talking and solving problems. Even during our sleep when we 'shut off' our brain performs thousands of processes and reorganises the information it has gained during the day. The Weber medical helmet uses photobiomodulation and 320 powerful infrared diodes penetrating the body fissured to stimulate brain function (for example, microcirculation).

Neurofeedback is a computerised workout for the brain. The purpose is to strengthen the brain by balancing the electrical activity. The brain is like a muscle that can be trained. The treatment has been used for ADHD and trauma. The American Academy of Paediatrics rated neurofeedback as having the same level of efficacy as stimulant medication used for ADHD.
