About
Dr Tania Pilley is a Clinical Psychologist who practices Clinical and health psychology, primarily in Dorset. She achieved her Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at University College London and qualified in 1999. Prior to her clinical training, she trained as a Registered Nurse.
She also has a Diploma in Family Therapy. She has specialised in trauma and has a keen interest in developing resilience in young people and adults; as well as helping individuals to perform at their optimum level, at school, in sport and the workplace. Her work can involve helping those in difficult personal situations, to assisting others in achieving their potential. In the corporate and public sector, she helps with the selection of key personnel for senior appointments.

Individual Psychology Treatment Sessions
Offered to address concerns identified during the assessment. Clients will be asked to reflect on their goals for therapy at the start of treatment.
Treatment may involve strategies to examine and change any unhelpful thinking patterns, building awareness of emotional reactions, education, biofeedback, relaxation training, exposure therapy, coping skills training, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Clinical Assessments
A client's concerns, personal history, mood, sleep, and coping skills will take place during the first one to two appointments.
The assessment consists of a clinical interview and completion of standardised psychological tests. Feedback about the assessment findings and any recommendations for treatment will be shared. This process will guide the creation of a tailored treatment plan.

Tania is available for sessions at the Sandbanks Clinic in Poole as well as live Consultations using Zoom or Microsoft Teams. She is registered with Bupa and most of the other insurance companies. Tania is DBS checked as well as being HCPC (The Health Care Professions Council) registered and being on the BPS (British Psychological Society).
